Louise Richards is a multidisciplinary artist researching ageing, feminism, domestic labour and material culture through sculpture, photography, print, the moving image and installation.

Her current body of work, FACE WORK, investigates the ageing female face as a site of labour, performance and resistance. Through enlarged photographs, soft sculpture and installation, she examines the social pressures placed upon women to maintain a youthful appearance, inviting viewers to reconsider wrinkles, facial hair and other signs of ageing as evidence of lived experience rather than flaws to be concealed.
